One thing we always take it for granted..
Soo todays post is about my little brother. He was born on 11th of September 2015 with TOF (Tetralogy Of Fallot) which is a congenital heart defect that is present at birth, a swollen kidney, and theres this one.. I don't know how to describe it but what I've been told is that salur makan dia tak sampai perut. That's why he was born with only 2.01kg because he didnt get enough amount of nutrients he should have when he was in the womb.
None of us know about sakit dia masa dia dalam kandungan except for his heart disease. It was detected when my mom was 5 months old pregnant while doing her regular monthly check. I remembered my mom locked her self in her room for weeks after she got home from the hospital. She didnt leave her room, barely eat, barely sleep and nearly got herself into depression.
Nobody knows what happen to her because when we asked her, she didnt answer until my dad told us about the news. All we can do at that time was giving her supports. Because of his condition, they said he cant be deliver normally so doctor suggested my mom to choose either to deliver him by induction labor or cesarean section.
My mom chose the c-section method because she knew that induction labor is the most painful one well yeahhh, I was born by inductione labor method 😔 which they use some sort of medication to bring on contraction and speed up the labor because I was 2 weeks late (or maybe they just miscalculate, i guess). So they've set the date on 20th september. Tapi tula orang cakap dengan kuasa Allah, dia lahir normal like other kids 😂
But then the doctor found something was amiss. There was bubles coming out from both his nose and mouth and then they immeadiately ran I quick scan on him. That was the moment they found out about his 'salur makan'. He was rushed to HKL the place where experts will do their works.
The saddest part about it was, he was taken away from the one who carried him for 9 months, his mom, from us right away the moment he was born. Got his surgery done by the same day he was delivered. He was hospitalized for a month.
During that period, we can only see him through a glass, he was inside the incubator and aside from our parents, we weren't allowed to go in due to the varies babies' condition inside there. They got him into another surgery a few week after he was hospitalized due to their carelessness with the paperworks 😒
I remembered holding him for the first time when he got home. He was so small, so fragile, so vulnerable and yet so strong because he's been in surgeries, got his body cuts, poked with numerous needles all over his body, both of his hands, his feets, got a huge tubes in his nose, mouth. It's just.... I can't even bare to look at him with all those wires all over his body.
Now I realized, the greatest wealth in this world isn't money, assets, education and all, it is our HEALTH which we always take it for granted. We didnt realized how impotant it is to us until it is taken away, one day. That will be the day where we would beg to have it back when we know it wouldnt be the same as before. So my point is, we should appreaciate our health and always be grateful for it because not everyone was born with a perfect health.
